Emma and her mom went to Mrs. Monique’s (Nique) house for dinner as they typically do when the all the neighborhood kids are home. But this night was different. There was a new face at the dinner table, and his name was Sean.

Sean had recently moved home from Texas and was looking to reconnect with old friends. Gibby, his old friend, invited him to Nique’s for dinner, and that is where it all began. Emma and Sean found themselves talking and laughing at the dining room table, getting to know each other.

Little did the two know, Julianne, Gibby, Nique, and Mom were in the next room playing matchmaker after seeing them together at the table. As the night continued, connections were made, and they realized the invisible string theory is real.

At the end of the night, everyone said their goodbyes, but Emma was nervous and forgot Sean’s name. As she was leaving, she called out “Bye, Gibby’s friend!” And, from that night on, the two became inseparable.

Beach time! Sean and Emma’s favorite time of the year, and Sean had plans to make it the most memorable trip of their lives. As they began the drive to Rosemary Beach, Florida, Sean started to count down the hours until the big question while Emma remained blissfully unaware of the events about to take place.

They arrived at the beach house and united with the whole family. Emma felt something was off; everyone was talking in hushed tones when she entered the room. She convinced herself everything was fine and enjoyed the beach and sunshine surrounded by the whole family, still not suspecting a thing.

The next day, the big day. Sneaky Sean had the ring hidden in Julianne’s –she was studying for her physical therapy board exam– beach bag, but the weather was not on Sean’s side. The rain began, and we made a dash from the beach back to the house, careful not to get Julianne’s “flashcards” wet.

The clouds cleared, and the sun began to shine. Sean’s nerves were in full swing. Emma and Sean posed by the water’s edge to take the traditional sunset picture, but Sean had other plans. Julia, Emma’s sister, was taking a video to capture the moment. To Emma’s surprise, Sean bent down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. And, well, she said “Yes!”
